My Collecting History
Welcome to my Diecast Showroom. I collect Vintage Hot Wheels® and Matchbox® 1:64th scale diecast toy cars and accessories from 1965 to '72. I've been collecting since January 1996 after a 23 year break. While browsing through an antique/collectable store I saw a lot of cars for sale I had as a kid. I was temporarily lost in the store because I was having so many flashbacks of my childhood, playing with the cars, racing them down the track and my playroom floor. I still have many of the cars, track and accessories from my childhood, although most cars are in played with condition (of course! ) After I dug them up I did a search on the web and was amazed to find how many other collectors there were. Through the www die cast pages, books and research I have learned a lot about die cast collecting in a short amount of time. I mostly collect vintage cars from 1965 to '72. It's fun to replace, buy and trade cars in near mint to mint condition I dreamed of having as a kid ,or had and of course played with (beat up). |

The purpose of this Showroom is to display some of my favorite diecast cars, trucks, race sets, accessories and catalogs. This Showroom is for everyone who enjoys collecting diecast toys. I am not a dealer and I do not have extras to sell. I hope you enjoy visiting and seeing my collection! My First Diecast Toy The left is a replacement of my first diecast toy, a Matchbox® M-9 double freighter. This model was given to me by my grandfather in 1963 when I was born. I can remember playing with it for endless hours as a boy. At some point I gave the tractor a custom paint job with some model paint. To this day I love trucks, diecast and real ones. |
