I collect Hot Wheels® made between 1968 and 1972. These cars called redlines because of the red stripe on the wheels. They were reproductions of the latest Muscle, Classic, Race, Concept and European Cars with "California Style". They had mag wheels with low friction wheel bearings, thin racing axels and torsion bar suspension that made them very fast. Hot Wheels® were painted with Spectraflame colors and each model could be found in many different colors. Other features were decals and racing stripes. Advertised as "The fastest metal cars in the world!", Hot Wheels® TV Commercials showed the cars speeding down an orange track with bank curves, loop to loop and jumps, beating all other brands. Hot Wheels® were an overnight success and have dominated the diecast toy market ever since.
